11.18.2011, 10:10 AM...I'm thinking at this point Milo and Liam need to go their separate ways and make lives for themselves. Because as much as this comic is supposed to be a romantic comedy it comes off more as a neurotic tragedy. If Liam doesn't tone down the attitude and learn to be more receptive, any rational person will knock him on his ass, tell him off, and walk out of his life.

11.18.2011, 11:08 AMI feel the need to comment on this a little seriously, because I think this is a serious issue. As much as this comic is a romantic comedy, it's also a story about real issues kids struggle with in similar situations. It's important to note that Liam's boundaries were, indeed, violated here - and I believe he has the right to be angry about that. Any good relationship, whether between friends or a romantic one, has to develop some level of respect for boundaries. Liam is clearly struggling with some sexuality identity issues as well as struggling with something that is a new concept for him, and needs to figure that out at his own pace. Everyone goes about that in their own way, and Milo also needs to learn to respect that.
tl;dr, ToY is as much a story about growing up with some difficult issues as it is intended to be a comedy - and all those involved have a lot of growing up to do. Our goal is to show real people in a real relationship and to make some serious commentary with a humorous approach. I hope this makes sense!

I got one question though: are they still in highschool? I thought they were young college students... Wich doesn't mean they're too old to have issues, mind you, I was a frustrated late bloomer myself #^_^#

11.18.2011, 12:20 PMHaha, thank you! They are indeed highschool age - they attend what they would call a boarding college, which is the level of education before university. They're both 16 in the current strip - Liam turns 17 in the next chapter.

However, every time I see Milo's hair, I can't help but think about how it looks when he first wakes up. It seems like it would have a life of its own. I know mine does.
And I hope this time the end of their conversation leads somewhere more productive in their relationship and not with Milo having another black eye... even though that probably would be funny.

If perhaps Milo was to kiss him again, in privacy, after asking, I wonder what would happen then?

I am bad because I want them to fight. I'd actually love a really heated fight and a stormy exit on Milo's part. It would thicken the plot. No kiss though, it would have brought us to the punchline far too soon.

11.21.2011, 6:44 PMI absolutely adore panel two out of this world. Liam's expression is the best drawn emotion I have ever seen in my whole life of reading comics. And it's such a realistic reaction, and I never really thought sarcasm could be conveyed that well, and I kind of just want to cut that single panel out and print it as a huge poster. Gah. (!!)
Milo's expression isn't too shabby either, with the slight turning down of the chin and the expectant yet upset eyes.
Did I properly convey that I find this to be perfection in picture?
